Do Bengals get along with other pets?

I have been interested in Bengals for about 5 years. I am now in a position to get one.

I have an eight year old, 16 pound dsh male cat, and a 10 month old 8 pound male Maltese puppy.

Jimmy the cat is one of those emotionaly needy cats. His favorite spot is on my lap. He knows his name and always comes when called. He never plays.

Bailey the dog, is a firecracker. He has tons of energy. He likes affection, but he is also OK being alone chewing on his toys. He LOVES to play.

Do you think that a Bengal would get along with Jimmy and Bailey. Would a Bengal kitten play with Bailey and keep him company while I'm at work?

This pictures shows their personalities:

My Bengals get along well with all my other cats and most of my friends with Bengals have other cats and dogs as well and they all get along (with proper introductions, etc.).

Sorry to be off-topic, but your Jimmy looks just like my Snickers! They could be brothers.

The photo is rather light -- Snickers is the same grey/brown as Jimmy.

Yes he does!

That brings up an interesting point. Both of our cats have three colors - brown, black and white. Isn't a tri-color (calico) automatically a female?

The "brown and black" aren't really different colors, they are the same color just different hues. A true tri-color is black red (orange) and white or blue (gray), cream, and white.

Brown is really the agouti version of black. Agouti = tabby. Non-agouti "blacks" are just black, but agouti "blacks" are brown tabbies.

Calicos are female

Hello,
To answe your Calico question, all Calicos are female unless there was a rare genetic mutation.
