Do you have Extra Toes?

Hi all! I'n curious to see how many members have cats with extra toes (polydactyl) and on 1 paw or all? Both of my cats, Hemingway and Shakespeare have extra toes on all their paws.

I named Hemingway since the condition is called Hemingway Polydactyl and I needed another famous author's name so I picked Shakespeare.

I can't wait to see how many extra toes kitties are out there.

Isn't there like a prehistoric gene that causes this?

I thought I read something strange like that once, but don't remember what exactly it was.

No extra toes here.

None of ours are polydactyls, but there's a gorgeous and very sweet polydactyl calico who lives at the kennel we use.

I've never had a polydactyl either, but I think they're special. There's something very appealing about them!

I've got a little girl who showed up screaming in our backyard this summer; she's got 6 toes in the front, 5 in the back, and her gigantic mittens are adorable.
