Frustrated (shelter stuff)

Kind of a pointless post, since I can't really discuss what it is that I'm frustrated about, but I'm just brain-fried today. It's just an adoption (and return from adoption) that I wish had been handled differently...I think I might be able to straighten the cat out working 24/7, but because of Assumpta's mental and physical issues, I can't foster.

I know I can't do everything, but some days it's frustrating, y'know?

Plus there's a stray kicking around the woods that looks considerably wilder than the last stray I trapped...not sure how that's going to play out, but the shelter's full and I can't trap until we empty out the quarantine room.

<sigh>

Someone needs a nap.

You can't possibly save every single one cat in your neighborhood. Relax. You are doing a wonderful job.

Are you at least feeding him? Lately all the grocery store came out with cheap store brand cat food. They smell super strong. The ferals love it and they cost $10 a month (I buy the dry kitten food and the canned fish ones because they smell and attract ferals better).

I have no idea why ferals get so attracted to canned byproduct goo.

It's very hard not to be able to help every cat in the way you would like. They are such wonderful creatures.

People who work in shelters deserve kudos for their good works. It's a tough job. I'm sure the cats in your shelter appreciate you, Gudewife.
