new kitten in house

A month ago one of my cats did, leaving her brother alone (9 yrs old)
I got an orange tabby 5 week old female) who loves to play, but the male is really not interested.
Well, the new baby is now 9 weeks old, and we now brought her a
playmate. He is an all black kitten, 7 weeks old and very sweet.
She was not really happy...she growled and hissed at him (but did not
attack) I thought bringing them in so early...would not be a problem.
When i left for work today, I put the new kitten his own room ...

Question...how long will it take her to adjuat and play with the new kitten, who is very eager to play with her???

Try some interactive play with both of them, like a soft toy on a string to chase, their both young enough they'll forget their differences and play.

Do a search on this forum too, there's lots on introductions.

Kittens are so fun, just keep supervised visitations going for a while till they are aquainted well.

At those young ages I don't think you have to worry too much. I think I'm hearing you correctly, the 9 week old female is growling at the 7 week old male. They're so little yet, she probably just doesn't know what to make of him yet. I agree, do some interactive play and I would add, feed them together (separate bowls) and I would guess they will be playing in no time. How fun, 2 little kittens.

Yes, they are so adorable....although I have had cats for 25 years
my last 2 were brought in at 4 months old and they were brother and sister, so of course there was no problem. So, this is new to me!!!
I'm sure in time she will accept him. I can't believe how much difference
there is between males and females. The males seem sweeter!!
My little Maxie is probably just spoiled......
