New kitten to Adult Cat

Hello,

I've researched and read a lot about introducing kittens, so I know hwo to do it, my question is does anyone actually have any success stories of introducing a kitten to an established adult?

I have a 6year old Tonkinese male, very attached to me, loving but aloof. I'm looking to add a ragdoll or some other loving breed kitten. I just want the comfort of knowing others have done this and for some it has worked out and the adult cat learned to like the kitten. I haven't heard too many happy stories where the cats end up liking each other.

thanks in advance for any comforting words!

All introductions will come with the troubles. We had Tinkerbell and wanted a friend, so we got Minnie. Tink was almost a year old and Minnie was about 6 weeks. We kept Minnie in the pet taxi and let them sniff at each other...Tink hissed, Minnie didn't care. Later we let Minnie run around the apartment, and Tink kept following her. Soon they were best friends.

I have found that when introducing new cats, the others are more afraid than anything...if you shower them both with love and get them playing together, the transition is much easier (in our case).

We have four and adding each one got easier and easier.
