CRAZY BEHAVOIR IN BRITISH SHORTHAIR

WE HAVE A 4YR OLD BRITISH SHORTHAIR. HE HAS STARTED ACTING STRANGE. MY SON WALKED INTO HIS ROOM AND BUMPED HIS BED AND OUR CAT HISSED LIKE HE SAW SOMETHING THAT WASNT THERE. NOW HE WILL SPARATICALLY JUMP UP AND HISS AND HIS HAIR WILL STAND UP. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR ABOUT A WEEK NOW AND WE DONT KNOW WHY.

Something is scaring your cat and has him on edge. Has anything changed in the household or neighborhood? Any smells (cats/dogs) people could be bringing into the home from outside?
