Eating just the jelly?!

Does anyone know why, or has anyone had experience of this kind of eating behaviour?

What does it mean, is it common?

Ugh. My cats do this too, when I buy chunky brands of food like Merricks or whatever. They'll lick up all the gravy and leave a nice pile of dry cubes of meat and veggies in the middle of their plate. I think it's because my cats just don't grasp the concept of taking bites of their food, they lick it up instead so I guess they have a hard time licking the chunky bits into their mouth. I just buy them the pate styles of food now and sometimes I mix it with a bit of water to make it more like a gravy and that seems to be easier for them.

Cleo used to do this. She would just lap up all the gravy and leave the dried pieces of meat. yuck

She has stopped this, now she likes this kind of food.

Mellie won't eat chunky food, either. I stick with pate style food.

I have to do the opposite. Now I just hope the 2 stores I buy my food from will let me exchange the 12 large cans I have. Maybe adding the bit of water or a shot of olive oil will work? Rachel Ray says that EVOO should be put on anything....of course, she's annoying, too

I was going to write a Chuck Norris saying here, but he e-mailed me a roundhouse kick.
