Missy is a stinker!

She loves to poop in my moms rooms, she sleeps on my moms bed, poops on my moms floor

my moms been out of town for 3 days and i didnt notice how under-used the litterboxes were until today, so i entered my moms room and what do you know?

3 wonderful piles of scat

why won't she use the litterbox? ever since we got her 6 months ago she refuses to use the litter box, shes indoor/outdoor and does most of her business outside but since the weather has been coming down we've been keeping her inside thus creating stinkyness

ideas?

i had the same trouble with jerry, what i did is start by washing all the areas that he done his poo's in really well then i would put him in the litter tray every so often and always after he had something to eat and keep doing this untill you see him go in on his own a few times. Also can you shut the door to your mum's room so he can't go in there

This may be a silly thought, but have you tried putting a litterbox in your Mom's room until she gets used to using it? Trust me, some more intelligent answers will come along.

Good luck.

Maybe she doesn't like the litter, or the box (especially if it's covered) or the location of the box. Some cats don't like to pee and poop in the same box, so a second litter box might be needed. Your mom's room would probably be a good place for it to start.

You can try Cat Attract litter. Also...are you scooping a minimum of once a day? She may not like going in a box that has already been used, so you may have to scoop more often...or the second box fix that.

we have two box's

if anything its the litter my mom brought some off-brand litter, i know my cats like the arm n hammer litter, as soon as this runs out i'll get it

when missy first joined the family she had a litterbox in my moms room but then as she grew out of her shell and started roaming the house and our neighborhood we moved the litterbox next to the otherone

and I can't close my moms door because my cats know how to open doors

sliding and knobs haha
