Anyone tried the "cat washroom"?

I ordered one yesterday. We're downsizing from 2800 sq ft to 1600, and I'm worried about the odor and unsightliness of an open litter box, and this got good reviews on Amazon.

I think it is beautiful.

It will not completely eliminate odor, especially immediately after a 'deposit' or if the cat does not cover its' waste. Frequent scooping and an odor inhibiting or neutralizing litter are your best bets. Another concern, is to be sure to keep the inside of the kitty cabinet clean or they may refuse to use it if it begins to hold odors. (from 'missing' the litter tray)

My husband made our cats one that looks very similar to that, although ours is as large as a hope chest and serves 8 housecats. It has a cat flap door in the center front and a hinged lid for access to clean. It is also lined with 1/16" plastic and caulked at the seams to be water tight and easily cleaned and disinfected. Ours is also vented to the outside and I have noticed it helps to keep odor and dust down.

Are you just trying to make me cry? There was one on Craigslist for $30 and someone else beat me to it.

I really wanted it. I think it has less to do with lessening odor, it's more for looks and to blend in better with a room.

I'm very happy for you.

UPDATE: I just got an email - the other person flaked - I think I'm getting it tomorrow!!! woo hoo

I'm happy for both of us!

Yeah, I hope to put it in our guest bathroom, which will rarely be used anyway. There's another one (Litter Chest) out there that I almost got, and may give a try if this doesn't work out:

Just got scales for my kitties today from Craigslist.

I'm getting the washroom tomorrow.

I check under "free" "furniture" "general" and "garage sales." Denver is huge, I'm surprised you haven't found one.

Here's a little one, kind of dirty, but could be cleaned up.

If $60 is the price for both, this is a good deal:
