Dipping foot into water?

If you read my post in Health and Nutrition (titled "I caved...") you'll know my cat Andie used to drink water like crazy before I switched her to an all canned diet 11 months ago. Just on Sunday she decided to show no interest in her canned food. B/c of her IBD, she has a limited choice in what she can eat. SO I caved and mixed a TEENY TINY bit of dry in with her canned stuff.... and she took her first drink of water in MONTHS just now.... When she did so..... she did the same thing she always did when she drank water all the time. She sniffs the water.... gently dips or even just taps the top of the water with her paw... then takes a drink. LOL. It's like when someone drips the baby's milk on their wrist to test if it's the right temperature.... LOL

My Tiger is also an orange tabby, Princess is very cute, perhaps Tiger and Princess should get together sometime
Tiger doesn't drink as much water because he is also on an all canned diet (he blocked last October ), he used to put his paw in the water also, it so fun to watch!!

Squirrely-Jo (in my avatar) will ONLY drink water off her foot. She will not lap it up in the normal way, she has to dip her foot into it and lick the water off the long fur between her pads.

Mister, had a badly scarred eye since we found him as a kitten at about 7 weeks old. That eye always looked like it had several layers of sn wrap film over it. His depth perception was off and I think he dipped his foot into the water to make the surface ripple so he could better judge the distance to dip his head down and not dunk his nose in the water.
