Marie's security issues

Recently, in an effort to save the local bird population (and to save myself the trouble of scraping up any more entrails on the porch), I put a bell around my indoor/outdoor cat, Marie. Since then, she has been having some dependency issues. When she comes inside she follows me around everywhere until I go upstairs and sit on the bed. She follows me upstairs and settles in. When she falls asleep I'm then able to walk around. If I am already upstairs and another family member lets her in she meows her head off until I call her name. If I'm running around trying to clean up she follows me around, everywhere. She's still very loving and affectionate, she just has these new tics. Is this a common thing when you put a bell on a cat that they get this upset, or is it just my cat, and what is it that could be upsetting her?

Re: Marie's security issues

I'm sorry I cant help much. All 4 cats I've ever had I put a bell on as soon as I got them just so that I knew where they were. It never seemed to phase them. Not even the itty bitty kitten i just got yesterday.
