just moved

Hi , I have moved from lanzarote ( canary islands ) with my cat . It was a volcanic landscape and i had no problems with my pet , she always went outside and did not use her litter tray even though it was always available to her .
Since i have returned to the uk , where the landscape is very different ( soil etc... ) she will not use the garden and is still reluctant to use the litter tray , she is not going anywhere else but is taking longer and crying around the garden which cant be good for her health , any idea's as to a solution , Thank you.

Re: just moved

Take her to a vet to rule out crystals/blocking. New situations will sometimes stress a cat to the point that it interferes with proper elimination. My advice would be to get her to the vet.

Re: just moved

Could you find soil similar to what she used before and give her an area to use that as her potty place?
I also agree that stress and/or holding-it-in can cause problems and a vet visit could rule that out. Watch her, to see if she appears in any pain or discomfort when she 'goes'...
