Neighbourhood Tomcat is harassing my female cat

I have a 1 year old female cat which has been spayed when she was young. But now there's a Tomcat in the neighbourhood coming into my house constantly at night and harassing her.

Yesterday when I got home he was in the house again, the smell was horrible and my poor cat was wet and frightened.

What can I do about this?
Can I spray something somewhere?

Please help! my poor cat and I don't feel like cleaning my house everyday....

Re: Neighbourhood Tomcat is harassing my female cat

I bet it is through a cat-flap.
The ONLY way to prevent this tomcat from coming inside your home is for there to NOT be open access. You need to install a cat-door that only allows your cat in, build an outdoor cattery (like a dog kennel/run) to keep your cat safe when she uses her flap to go outdoors or block it off completely and you personally monitor your cat's comings/goings to be sure no unwanted visitors crash your pad.
This is not the tomcat's fault that you have given him access to your home. Your job now is to figure out a way to deny him entry. As long as there is a flap that allows anything and everything to pass through it, this cat will continue to make-himself-at-home.

Our dear departed cat (see avatar) used cat-flaps to enter other people's houses. His main aim was to find tasty morsels of some sort or another (he was never very confrontational), but he did get caught a couple of times...

One way or another you need to restrict access to this to keep this other cat out of your house. I suppose it would be one thing if you happened to be around when the other cat tried to come in as you could use a squirt bottle on him, but if he comes in when you are at work you don't have as many options..
