Human behaviors?

Do you think your cat/s start having human behaviors or liking/tolerating human behaviors the more they live with you?

Eg: do you think your cat smiles? Does your cat enjoy/tolerate/hate human kisses? Has your cat started making some sounds that sound very much like yours?

My cat:
Sometimes he seems to be smiling, but I'm not sure.
He seems to tolerate my human kisses (I kiss him a lot) and to understand it's my way of expressing love, just like his licks on my hands. But if I overdo it, he seems irritated (being the sweetheart he is, he just softly jerks loose).
When I disturb his sleep, he's lately started making this whining sound that's exactly the same I make when he wakes me up at dawn!
Sometimes, when I go to the toilet, he comes along and sits by me in his litter box and goes too, LOL

I wonder if, as time goes by, we'll be acting more and more like each other...

My cat does that whining sound also. When I first adopted him he was a very quiet kitten only meowing occasionally but now he has definitely picked up on the fact that humans use talk to communicate. Sometimes he opens his mouth and makes a whining sound almost like he is trying to talk but his cat voice box just can't make the same sounds a humans can. Sometimes I swear he says yes when I ask him if he is hungry. He gets annoyed at kisses too...lol..He will tolerate it to a certain point then jump up and turn and walk off like he is saying "ok enough is enough I know you love me."..lol

LOL He sooo reminds me of my brother when he was a toddler, I used to shower kisses on him and he'd have the same reaction! Nowadays his wife complains that my sister and I made our brother averse to kiss-showers.

Yet another way that cats are a lot like toddlers! We could start a list . . .

Yep! I was reading (somewhere, wikipedia maybe?) that feral cats are silently or nearly so. Like in those colonies, the only vocal things are hisses and major things. Apparently cats meow more in the company of people. Definitely sounds like they are picking up on our method of communicating to me.

I got Athena as a stray and ever since I picked her up she's been vocal vocal vocal. She never stops. If I shut a door behind me she sits at the door, clawing at it crying and crying and trying to get the doorknob until I let her in. Grady chirps when he's glad to see someone. I walked into my bedroom last night and he was curled up on my bed and he started with his little chirps and when I laid with him he started purring. I find myself acting like a cat though, not the cat acting like the human. Grady likes to rub on my face so I'll rub on him with my face and he starts to pur. I also meow at Athena when she talks to me. It may be weird, but I love my cats!

I'm not sure about human traits, but I'm beginning to wonder if I have Norwegian Forest Dogs. They come for walks with me and the hounds, or if I've managed to sneak out when they're asleep, they line up in the kitchen with the dogs for dog treats. (Yes, they love pigs ears and chewy sticks - if I don't give them their own, they steal them from the dogs).

Even though they're litter mates, they do have tiffs - it makes me laugh when they're not talking to each other. One will walk into a room, the other will leave in a snit. Sometimes they'll share a bed, others they don't want to be anywhere NEAR their brother.

I once spent a frantic couple of hours looking for Ernie, and ever since then, whenever he comes home, he always comes to find me to say Hi
