Question took our fat family cat

my family cat which also belongs to my parents sometimes pees and poops small amounts outside her litter box in winter

but the other day we found a blood soft stool so i took the cat to a vet as i was concerned the vet told me it is pretty common and that she might just have worms since she is a serious hunter
also told me the peeing out of her litter box might be a sign she is upset because she cannot go out in the winter

i am putting her on a special eating plan i feel she is way to fat right now my parents think she should get as much food as she likes

should i be satisfied with this answer?

What are you feeding?

Canned (or raw) is much better for a cat than dry food. That goes especially for cats with health problems such as obesity. Feline Obesity: An Epidemic of Fat Cats by Lisa A. Pierson, DVM :: cat weight management, obese cat, cat weight loss is written by a vet and is about how she got some incredibly obese cats to slim down to the correct wieght. Feeding Your Cat: Know the Basics of Feline Nutrition :: healthy cat diet, making cat food, litter box, cat food, cat nutrition, cat urinary tract health is a link to the main article on that site.

Basically, you want to feed a food that is at least grain free. Food Products has a list of grain free foods though some of them (such as Friskies) do contain rice.

How much to feed is another question. I can't find the exact formula back but here is this:
A 10 lb cat needs 206 calories per day.
An 11 lb can needs 220 calories per day.
A 12 lb cat needs 233 calories per day.
A 13 lb cat needs 246 calories per day.

we feed her performance ultra slime care formula dry cat food for cats i put only 1 cup a day for her but my parents when they see her beg they will fill her bowl up

Performatrin Ultra Slim Care Formula with Salmon Dry Cat Food

it is winter time and i swear that i saw fur in her poop that she did on the floor i wonder if a rat or a mouse she found in our house and she just ate it up? she loves to eat wild animals its all snow outside she must have found one in our house i think the other day i found a chochlate bar that had the corners of the rapper ripped off and someone took a tiny bite out of it so i am thinking there must be rats or mice here

she is the only cat i have ever had that has such a strong obession with eating other animals i swear i have seen her eat a whole squireel in a day and even a full grown rabbit over a couple of days

we found her as a young kitten so i imagine she was hunting on her own then and hade no owners so that urge to eat live animals never died
