Constant head-rubbing

I know I know, cats do this all the time. But I was wondering how normal this is.. when he sits on my lap he's gottah rub his head on each side of the chair like alot.. usualy its on the left arm and the right arm.. almost like they are head scratchers. He'll do it for like 5 or 10 mins or so unless I slip my hand in there and rub it. When I'm at the computer desk he does it to the point where it gets to scare me because it's a hard cornered desk and he'll just rub and scratch like crazy on it. It's always the top of his head.

His fur is clean and his skin is clean so i'm sure there's no fleas or ringworm or anything. Just curious if anybody else's cat does this.

Constant head-rubbing

When a cat rubs his face, or even tail, he is marking you with his scent! They have these scent glands on their paws, tails, side of their faces, so when he rubs against you, or any inanimate object for that matter, he is claiming you or it as "his". They secrete chemicals called pheromones when they groom themselves and that's what they are rubbing onto you. Something only cats can smell. It's a sign of affection.

Yup, my kitten does this for upwards of 30 minutes. It all depends on how happy and content the cat is. Sounds like you have a very happy, content kitty!

He may also just want the top of his head scratched, even if he doesn't have any health issues. Margaux hates being petted, but absolutely loves it when I scratch the top of her head and her cheeks. Especially if he's sitting on your lap and rubbing his head on the arms of the chair, I'd take that as a sign that he'd like your fingers to replace the chair arms.
