unusually loud purring
Margaux is going to drive me right out of my mind.
The short version: She's been lethargic, not eating much, and drinking more than usual for several days at a time, for several weeks now. After bloodwork, xrays, etc. showed nothing, she went in for a scaling yesterday so that they could look in her mouth (without her biting anyone).
When I picked her up, she was growling (not that unusual). After some pacing and not being able to decide whether she wanted to eat or not, she went into her little bed and promptly started purring as loudly as I've ever heard her purr. Very calm and regular, but very loud. Normally, I just get a little purr that I can only hear close up.
She's been doing it today too, in her bed, in my bedroom, wherever. A very deep rumble.
I know that kitties sometimes purr when they're in pain. Would the different, and what seems to be more intense, purr indicate that she might be in pain? Or is she just really happy to be back from the vet? Or...?
