It's cool, but...

This was featured in the latest Hauspanther update (a cat product website that sends e-mails to subscribers). I could see my cats liking it, but I can also see them destroying it in a matter of days.

It's made out of cardboard? That would last about a day in my house, tops!

That said, I like the basic idea. I bet you could make one yourself out of wood for not much money, and it would be a lot sturdier.

Hm, well, one of my cats loves to sleep in her cardboard bed or curled up in a tight little ball on top of the Bergan Turbo Scratcher, neither of which she's managed to destroy yet (the scratcher is relatively new, but the bed has been around for years.) I don't think Cosette would be as interested in cuddling up in a wooden box, though if your cat is primarily interested in the hammock feature it might not matter. The box might last longer than you think, but you'd be taking your chances, especially if your cats are hard on cardboard. It is pretty neat though.
