Kitten loves iphone cables

I have noticed that my 4 month old loves to chew my iphone cable. She gets in a trance like state, and kneads and purrs loudly. She has done this severam times, but only with iphone cables. The tv, computer and Ps3 cables are all intact. Has anyone else seen this before, an iphone cable fixation?

Mine likes to chew the iphone cord, I think because it is thinner than other cords and it's easy for her to get to (vs. cords that are tucked behind tables and tv). If I put a book or something on top of the cord, she leaves it alone. Cord-chewing is definitely a habit you want to break sooner rather than later!

Oh YES, with bells on!!!! MMe Coco has 'retired' 6 sets of iPhone headsets - so far! She chops them into little pieces about 3cm long. She's VERY precise! Power pack cable also attract attention from our younger cats, such fun! We have to ensure headset cables are NEVER left out when not in use and tuck other Apple cable away as much as possible. I have a theory that the cables are coated in a unique kitteh attractant which ensures Apple have a steady income from owners of cables that have been eaten, chomped, gnawed and mutilated by their kittehs!

Could you try introduce drinking straws. Might be safer and less costly to chew on. My girls ate through the phone cable too. Thankfully it was not plugged in but it is the only cable they ever chewed.

My two kittens are a little older than yours, and they love the cord of my Mac Book. Maybe it's something with the white that Apple uses... Knock on wood, they haven't tried the iPhone cord yet.

My Winston went through so many of my sons headphone cables, it is not even funny. Finally, I got hima pair of Kevlar reinforced head phones which lasted ONE day! So until Winstonoutgrew his fetish, my son had to live with cheapy headphones.

There's a product called Bitter Apple which most cats hate. It's a spray and available at most pet stores.

Cali, Cinderella, Cleo and Charlee

I didn't realize Bitter Apple worked/could be used for cats. I'll have to try that.

Your kitty is so cute! still a baby!
I also noticed him sucking the blanket as he was kneading.

I have a blanket very similar to your. My guy is a 'mature' man, and he loves that blanket! I think fleece/microfiber blankets have something in it which makes cats love them. He kneads away and will not stop!

Sorry, I do not have a solution for you! but he is sooo cute...

I was thinking of my iphone cable a couple of days ago, also......
