My cat hates me

My cat Reese's used to sleep with me every night.
I would pick her up, and bring her in my room and she would stay and hang out with me.

Ever since I got my kitten, truffles, he sleeps with me now, and Reese's groans at me when I bring her into my room.
She also does it when I pick her up sometimes.
She never bites, or hisses, just makes his groaning/growling noise.

Will this stop at some point?
Is it because of the kitten?
He does chase her around and bother her a lot.
We used to be best friends, but now she avoids me a lot.

I miss my best buddy.
I raised her from a 6 week old kitten, and she means the world to me.

Any ideas how I can make I get her to love me again?

Is this the cat you hit and treated badly for years?

If this is a different cat, this may be the reason:

Maybe too many other cats.

Cali, Cinderella, Cleo and Charlee

No, this is my other cat.
She's only a year and a half.

I have never hit her, yelled at her, or anything.

She's probably jealous of the kitten. Since Reese groans when you bring Truffles into your bedroom, stop doing that and see what happens.

Yeah, I would probably go back to letting Reese sleep in your room with you. That was his domain and now someone else has encroached on it. Then bit by bit, try to allow the new kitten in the bedroom to share.

I agree with Emily. When introducing a new cat or kitten, the resident cat (or cats) should always take precedent. If the kitten harasses Reese when he doesn't want to play, distract the kitten with a game for a while, then put the kitten in another room and give Reese some attention. At night, take Reese to bed with you and put the kitten somewhere she will be safe overnight. Eventually he will get used to the kitten, but he should come first.

What is it with you? On August 23rd you posted a thread about how your cat hates you. Is this the same cat, or do you just think you are hated by cats in general??
