Why is my cat weird with certain people?

Me and kitty get along great. She likes my girlfriend, too. When my girlfriend sleeps over Kitty loves to walk all over us, cuddle and get double the pets when we are in bed. It's like a kitty love free for all and its she is in heaven. But, she gets a little weird when I have friends over. She's very skidish about new people. She is very nervous about new people. When I bring friends over, if she hasn't met them before, she will spend some time sniffing them out and such then she will either instantly bond with them or she will keep pursuing the person, like she wants to be pet, but then, when they go to pet her she will hiss and bat her claws at them. One friend in particular, she will approach very nicely, just like she does to me, but then in stead of being nice she turns into a jerk.

Any idea what thing is about?

Some people she'll get along fine with and others she'll do this weird dance of coming up to them like she wants to be pet, but then getting aggressive.

Have you two and kitty ALWAYS gotten along great or was there a "get acquainted" period? Cats, just like dogs, can be VERY loyal once they accept their people as numero uno in their lives. Other people smell weird, look strange, act differently and talk funny to them. They, in short, are not YOU. Do these friends a favor and either put kitty in a room by herself (so she is not stressed) when they come to visit.

Your cat could be sensing evil.

At least you know your girlfriend is ok, but dont turn your back on the others
