Trying to introduce my new cat to my other cat and rooms

So we got a new cat about two weeks ago. We kept the cat in my sisters room for about 4 days. My sisters room is part of a secluded area. After that 4 days we let the cat roam in that secluded area for about a week. You can see what I'm talking about in this picture.

Now were trying to get the cat to come out into the rest of the house. Its not going well.

Earlier we tried to introduce our cat Calvin to the new cat. The new cat was fine with Calvin but calvin was growling and hissing.

I brought the new cat into the living room and he went back into my sisters room...

How do we get him to come out?

Also I'm calling him "new cat" because we haven't picked a name for him yet.

Some cats take longer than 2 weeks, especially if the house is large. Right now, that wing is his safe zone. Cats are normally curious and will try to explore other areas given time, but it may be too soon for him, especially with a growling monster out there! Give him more time. In a few more days, I would completely trade places, put resident cat in sister's room and new cat in another section of the house for a few days. DO NOT introduce them yet, it sounds like a disaster waiting to happen this soon.

I agree with Marcia. They need to trade places. Put Calvin in the new cats room and shut the door and let the new kitty roam around the house. They need to get used to each others smells.

Rub towels on each of the cats and put them in each others spaces too.

I had to go through this process too but for me it took about a week, which I learned was really fast, but it worked out because my 2 cats get along very well now.

sounds like you're trying to rush it.

Advice from those above sounds spot on to me.
