Why my cat acting this way?

Hi,
my cat may be awake or asleep. I rub her stomach and she like "don't touch me there." I just wonder why sometime she let me and other times she won't let me. I'll tell her "it's OK girl, it's mommy." She hate been touch on the stomach. Why is that?

Not all cats like to be touched on their bellies. Its probably just that simple. My super friendly Main Coon is very selective about "when" I can rub his belly. Maybe she's sensitive-like how people are ticklish. I had a cat that loved to have her feet scratched and would spread her toes to be scratched too - she was the first and only cat that loved toe scratches.

Well a cat doesn't really understand what "its okay, its mommy" means. But for a cat to expose her stomach it can show trust but if she doesn't like it she doesn't like it. Its possible she doesn't feel secure at times.

Most of my cats don't want to be touched on their bellies. She may learn to trust you in time but in all honesty you have not had this adult cat long so it may take a few years before she is completely trusting of you.

Cat owners' prayer: "Lord help me be the person my cat thinks I am"
