Kitten not covering her poop in litter box?

Noticed this the past 2 days when she goes to use the litter box she won't cover her poop. Shes about to be 8 months. This just started happening. I don't notice anything wrong with her at all she's her normal playful self and is eating/drinking normally and spayed. Can this be a serious issue besides stinking up the whole house? Lol

Could it be that your kitten just happens to see something interesting after doing her deed, and forgets to cover? I'd try to make attempts to spy on her eliminations if you're concerned, but I think there are members here who also have kitties that simply don't bury their solid waste. (An unfortunate thing for the rest of the household, you have my sympathies on that!)
Hoping it's just a transient phase for her, though!

Stuff happens. My Polly never covered until recently - maybe yours is the opposite. Could be distractions, could be she does not like getting this litter on her paws. She does her duty then scadaddles it out of there with as little contact with it as possible. Have you recently switched litters??

Stephano doesn't ever cover his poop, but I think he just wants everyone to know that he has been there. He is kind of rude like that.

I know it's annoying, but when I get annoyed about this I tell myself "at least he is going IN the litter box". Because if you have ever had that become an issue, you will take uncovered poo as long as it's in the litter box, LOL!

Mow's 10 and doesn't cover is poop. Never has. He scratches at the side of the box, the floor around the box, and even the furniture near the box..... but doesn't scratch the litter to cover the poo..

His brothers usually follow him and so it for him..
