how to keep her out of his litter?

Hey everyone,
I have two beautiful fur babies, Ozzy is 2.5 years and Ru is 10 months old.
Ever since we got Ru we have had the problem of her peeing in Ozzys litter box!
she poops in her own litter, and also pees. But sometimes she pees in Ozzys litter too!
her litter is always cleaned regularly, poop scooped as soon as possible. They use the same litter type too.

whenever we're home and she tries to use ozzys box we chase her off and she uses her own. But when we're both in work we come home to her having used his litter! His litter is having to be cleaned more regularly because of this.
the litters are in separate Rooms so they have privacy, I just dont know how to make her stop! He gets annoyed when she uses his litter, so ozzy will sometimes pee or poop on the floor by his litter unless we clean it before.

Does anyone have any advice? Thanks in advance

Lausa,
LOL! I hate to break the news to you...but to cats, sharing litter boxes, is completely normal!!:p
Celebrate the fact, that Ru is using a litter box, whether or not, it's "hers"!!
Ozzy won't mind!

Did you put his name on it so she knows not to use it?

Really? I thought they liked their own places!
ozzy doesnt use hers at all, only his own.

so we just have to just clean his twice as regularly as hers? he is super fussy and doesn't like it a bit dirty so it's just frustrating that they both use it because we have to change it every 2 days!

How often do you scoop? What are you changing every two days?

Mowmow Ru is almost human I think if we put Ozzy on it she would actually understand :')

but yes that's right, he does get bothered because it gets dirty quicker. And I think he doesn't like her scent because he sniffs it for ages before he wants to use it!

If there's nothing to be done we will just have to change it more regularly!

Marie, we scoop every day and scoop poop out every time they poop!
And we change Ozzys litter box every 2 days, like a total litter box clean with detergent and new litter.
ru's lasts about 6 days and we do the same with hers each time we do a full clean

Lausa,
Woops!
Just did catch the fact, that Ozzy, isn't that happy about it!
In this case, I think I'd add one more litter box, so Ru has a choice, and maybe...leaves Ozzy's box to him!

Hm... good idea sharon! We would just have to find a place to put a third litter box. We have a small apartment and the other spare room is the dining room I might try there?
