Kittens will pounce and run away all the time. Usually they run to 'hide' behind something before making another run at the 'prey'.

It's play noises

Kittens or cats, I've found since adopting my two, makes all sorts of noises I had absolutely no clue about!

My two would growl/hiss if they think their most prized possesion is threatened to be taken away by the other, even though they get along quite well normally. They would also growl when they captured their favorite prey toy, too. I guess that just meant their inner (carnivorous) kitty was truly coming out, lol. Jackson Galaxy says, "Cats are on this planet for one thing only...that's to kill"! And that's really what our kitties were meant to do for centuries, hunt for mice in our fields?

On a side note, Maya (my brown tabby) makes the weirdest sounds when she's sleeping and stretches. Sort of like a kitty groan? I find it hilarious!

Locke gets seriously annoyed if his feathered toys won't let him catch them (mostly it's me beging too fast for him to catch them). He'll growl like and adult cat does and hiss at it!

Auri makes a funny noise when she yawns/stretches/meows all at the same time. It wouldn't be the first time my boyfriend and I have looked at each other wondering where the drawn out squeak came from.
