I've just taken Sherlock to the veterinarian's because he was gone for so long, and now I have to take Butterboo because there's been a stray cat coming around my house at night thats beating him up. I got a glimpse of it, it isn't a cat I've seen around here before. I usually don't mind a stray cat if it's just passing through but this one is seriously hurting my cats and that isn't okay. Any advice about what to do about it?
Is Sherlock and Butteroo your cats or are they feral/strays you care for? If they are your cats please keep them inside but if they are not trap the stray and have it fixed. It should help with the fighting.
Sherlock and Butterboo are my cats, the thing is I have 5 cats all together and I can't keep 5 cats in my house, as it isn't very big and they don't all get along. I'll attempt to trap the stray and get it fixed, maybe take it to the humane society to find a home.
I would keep your cats inside until the stray is trapped. Perhaps you can keep the cats who do get along in a separate room, something of that sort. Not very fair to let your outdoor cats keep getting attacked because you don't have space for them in your home.
Hope my post doesn't come off rude or condescending. I'm speaking with the animals best interest at heart, is all.
I understand exactly what you're saying. I could very well do that. Tonight I'll bring them in and see if I can put something together to get the stray trapped. The other outside cats, Riot and Twilight, seem to be fine but I'm still going to bring them in just in case.
