head bunting (playful or fight?)

I care for 9 feral cats all have been TNR, I recently had a stray cat neutered, he's very friendly, purrs and meow. I think he belongs to someone because he is well groomed and is very friendly. The vet estimated him to be 1-2 yrs old. After I released him, he didn't come back til a few days later and ask for food. And now he comes everyday, eats, harass(see below problem) the other ferals and then off he goes. Then he'll come back for dinner around 5pm when I get home and this repeats.

The problem is that he is head butting/bunting the large male feral and then whacks the other ferals as they walk by. I don't have cats before so I don't know if this is a playful behavior or is he bullying the other ferals. Before he head butts the other male feral who is bigger than him, he would make some kind of noise and then both either stand or sit and put their foreheads to each other. I tap him on the back and tell him "No" and he'll stop, but if I don't watch him, he'll do this again.

My ferals before have all gotten along fine, this is the first time I see this so I don't know if I didn't stop him would they fight?

I think you would know real cat fighting if you saw it! The back arches, the tail fluffs up to twice it's size, the ears go flat and the yeowling is unearthly guttural. It's the kind of noise that make the hair on the back of your neck stand up. If there is none of this I would not worry about it at all and sit back and enjoy the show.

When he head butt the other feral, both of their ears lay flat to the side. maybe today, i'll just wait and see what happens. I just don't want the other ferals to be scared of him and go away since a few of them live in the house we built.

How recently did you neuter him? Usually a lot of the fight goes out of them when the hormones subside within a few weeks after neutering.
