Hardwood Floors + Cat Urine = Black Stain

Does anyone know of anything that can fight black urine stains on hardwood floors?

I discovered one of my foster cat is not using the litter box and has caused some extensive floor damage.

i just did a quick google search on "cat urine black stain on hardwood floor". Two youtube videos popped up as well as a number of other links addressing this problem. You might try that. I personally have no experience.

Where are the stains and litterbox? How long has the foster cat been peeing on hardwood? Have you told the vet about this issue?

The stains are in the corner of the living room. The cat has since stopped. I set up a new litter box right near his hiding place at the time. Since then this feral has become more sociable.

That's great! I hope it stays that way.

I was hoping there was something I could do that would not involve sanding the floors.

Now the feral has started using the other litterboxes and the one I put out in the open for him is being ignored.
