cats afraid of people

Hi everyone! Female with 2 male cats named teddy and simba. Been on living with the cats on my own for 2 years and now have a partner and 2 kids about to move in. Cats are very timid and now are hissing and are very scared of my humans no matter now many times i try to get them to calm down and introduce them. Not really sure what to do

Welcome!

Cats definitely have their own timetables. My girls used to be terrified of company, it took a while, but now they're the friendliest cats ever. Some people have good results with Feliway and other calming products. If they're food motivated at all, you could have the kids give them treats.
