new kitten still hiding

I just got my 4 month old Himalayan kitten. She’s been hiding ever since she got here, which wasn’t all that long ago, it hasn’t even been a day. I’ve kept food and water near her hiding spot. But I’m worried she isn’t eating. Any way to get her to warm up me quicker?
The last kitten I interacted with was purring and cuddling with strangers in a minute. Don’t know how to handle a shy little one.

Try Treats and maybe even a toy. When a kitten is intoduced into a new home, the new smells are very scary to them (well at least most of them). All you are trying to do is see progress. Once a cat or kitten gets confident that there surrounding are safe, they will continue to expand. Their curiousity willl take them from there. But treats usually help, maybe some catnip, reduce any noises in the house, as well as make sure they know where the litter box is and that it is close by. Otherwise, there is not a whole lot you can do other than forcing the kitten to experience which i definitely do not agree with. If the cat knows your scent, it might be good for you to stay in the room for a while, listen to some much on earbuds or read a book.

Hope this helps.
