Weird Question

Ok, I know this is a weird questions, but I'm hoping someone might have an answer. I have a male tabby that's about 7-8 years old. About 6 months ago, I got two kittens. We got the kittens a new bed, but they didn't take to it, so the older cat claimed it as his own.
Now, for the past week or so, he's been "loving" his bed. Is this normal? He's fixed and has never done this before. I wake up in the middle of the night and he's "going at it" with his bed. Should I be worried, or do cats do this?

Sorry, but I have to laugh at this!

One of my cats went through a 'phase' when he turned 2, having particular 'affections' for vetbed and fleecey material, not to mention the kittens I had at the time (they are now 2 years old). The behaviour stopped as suddenly as it started, although he will still suckle and pad the vetbed and fleeces. My Riley was neutered at 6 months.

I think as long as its not hurting anyone, its just one of those things that you just have to put down to your cats character.

Are your kittens fixed? Maybe they're emitting some pheramones or whatever that your adult cat is reacting to, even though he's fixed.

Just figured the timimg might be right, you got your kittens 6 months ago, so they must be what 7-8 months old?

Yep, the kittens are fixed. I guess he's just going through a "phase!"
Thanks for all your comments!
