Kittens from the same litter

Hi all,

I got my kitten at the same time as 3 of my friends, and from the same litter.

Sadly, after 2 weeks, one of the kittens died. Now, aged about 7 months, another kitten is really sick with some sort of infection. (praying that she'll make it though)

Although my kitten (and the 4th kitten) are really well, I'm worried that it may be something hereditory, and I don't know how I'd cope if I lost willy.

I know you probably can't help without any info on how the other kitten died etc,. but is it feasible it could be something hereditory?

If you are concerned (which you have every right to be), get as much info from the other owners and go to the vet. There are probably things that can be checked for if your vet has some inisght into what's happening with the rest of them. Plus it will save time and money if the vet knows what to look for rather than blindly testing.

You don't know what kind of infection it is? Upper Respritory perhaps?? Get your vet to do some tests.

The cats are now 7 months? Are they living together, or just from the same litter? If they're not living together, I don't think I'd worry about it.
