Have you used a Scat Mat?

I'm just wondering if anybody has used a Scat Mat and what your thoughts are on it? (Just those who have actually used it, please)

yes -- I wanted to dodge opinions from people who haven't used it and I wanted to dodge explanations for why I was asking, so it was purely intentional, thank you.

I've never used one, and never would. I'm not a believer in the whole 'Shock Therapy' idea at all. I think the theory behind it is ok, but I just don't think its very fair, especially in cats that have previously had freedom to go everywhere they want. I think they are traumatic, stressful and a little cruel.

I have only seen the results of such products in dogs, with an invisible fence. The dog became nervous and petrified of his owner, and eventually he got over the fence (with a shock) then couldn't get back for obvious reasons. They got rid of the fence, and the dog has never recovered, and remains nervous and skittish.
