Wall Licking???

My cat has always been very licky, she cleans herself constantly and cleans my husband and myself as well. In the past she has been caught licking our sheets and the carpet and her toys....recently she has started licking the wall when she is sitting on the bed. This wouldn't concern me so much but we have lead based paint in our apartment and that is the last thing I want her injesting. I am going to go get a sheet or fabric to put up on the wall to prevent the licking, but I was wondering if anyone had heard of this kind of wall-licking behavior.

excessive licking of non-food objects usually has two possible causes: improper nutrition, or boredom.

See that is what's odd...I've changed her food around and given her more variety of food, she's seen the vet recently and has a clean bill of health...maybe I'll get her some new kitty grass soon. I would think that boredom would be a possibility, but she'll be running around like crazy while my husband and I are playing with her, chasing balls and mice, and she'll stop mid-playing to lick her mouse, or to lick me or my husband. i think she just REALLY likes licking and textures! Heh.
