Re: Ziwi Peak

I'm thinking I'm going to give it a try. Since US originated venison seems to be in short supply these days, and Jazz and Misha both seem to be sticking their noses up at the Nature's Variety Duck, I've been looking around for a premium venison wet food and the Ziwi Peak popped up when I did a search. We'll see how they like this brand!!!

Hmmm....where's the Taurine? I know that the heart (and maybe the other organs, I forget) are good sources of Taurine, but cooking breaks it down. Most food manufacturers add Taurine to their food, I have to ask why this one doesn't.

The source of the Liver, Tripe, Kidney and Heart aren't named either. (And as an aside...tripe...blech!)

I dont have a problem with tripe. Its just an internal organ like everything else. Apparently its green tripe (been looking at the website) whatever that means . Interesting about the taurine though - but perhaps it is in there but just isnt listed. I thought Taurine was added in as a matter of course in all cat food now.
