Caughing mucus

Hi all,

I have been searching around but haven't really found any ideas... I just took our cat to the vet as he had poked his eye and needed some attention, the eye healed nicely but by the time of the follow up(Wednesday) the vet said that Lucky was looking good, his heart was fine, his lungs sounded good, fur looked good, etc. The thing is that he has become lethargic, and now seems to cough up mucus... He is a bit older between 9-10 years old, we got him from the shelter about 8 years ago, so thats as close as we can pinpoint his age. We are going to take him back in the morning but was hoping for any kind of thoughts.

Thanks
Brian

Re: Caughing mucus

One of my cats has done this; still does it once in a while, though not so much. Could be any number of things: trying to cough up a hairball the most obvious. Coughing up mucus from a cat cold. Asthma. Heartworm. Intestinal worms. Diet. If it's somethiing that's getting worse then definitely having a vet investigate is the best course of action.
