Cat with diareha (sp)

My new foster cat has had diareah for a week now. I think it is getting adjusted to her food. I am bad, giving her a different variety. Wellness, Max Cat, Avo Derm which I dont give anymore. It was all over my wall this morning and she just went now. Is there any meds I can give her? Food suggestions? I am thinking it is the wet food or maybe I am feeding her too much? She gets a 3 oz can in the morning and one around 5 pm. I leave a little kibble out for her during the day. She weighs around 5.6 pounds.

And, it is not chronic, she doesnt run for the litter box. Only when she poops it is runny. And I am sure it smells, but I have been sick and I can't smell!

Re: Cat with diareha (sp)

It could be the change in food or it could be parasites. If it's the food, I would go back to whatever she was eating and wait 'till her system clears up. Then change her diet SLOWLY. I have found a little (1/2-1 teaspoon) of plain canned pumpkin (not pie mix) with each meal can really help clear up diarrhea (and constipation!).
Good luck!

Second the pumpkin recommendation. We freeze it in an icecube tray here, and feed some once a week to keep things movin'. It's also handy for people with digestive issues (like me!).

I do that too! Makes handy little portions and I'm not always throwing it away.
