Toby - eye concerns

I cant remember whether I've posted already about this or whether I just keep thinking about it. The problem comes and goes you see, so I forget.

A little while ago, Toby got something in his eye (just before we moved to the new place). It was sore that night but seemed better in the morning.

However.

Since then, every now and then he will squint for a short while and when you look closely you can see what looks like something stil on the surface of his eye. I guess this could be a 'scar' or even some material of some kind - I dont know. It does look as if there is something on his eye.

For the most part it doesnt bother him at all and because it doesnt bother him I forget about it. His cornea isnt cloudy or anything, like in a ulcer but its a worry ... the 'material' can be seen on his iris (coloured bit of eye).

I also feel bad because I keep forgetting about it ...

Re: Toby - eye concerns

Maybe flush it with some preservative free saline and see if it's still there.

Re: Toby - eye concerns

You can get the saline in a drug store, around here it would be with the contact lens solutions.

Wrap him tightly in a towel and lay him in your lap. Since I'm right handed, I would have his head to the left. Use the thumb and index or middle finger of your left hand to hold his eye lids open and use your right hand to squirt the bottle or use an eye dropper.

Re: Toby - eye concerns

OK, thanks. I'll go to the chemist tomorrow lunchtime and see what I can find.

Then, tomorrow night, I'll say a fond farewell to my fingers ....
