Itchy ear?

Hello guys!

My cat, Frida, scratches her right ear a lot, I have noticed. Today I noticed she peeled off some hair on it from so much scratching and drew a prickle of blood. She's a 100% indoors cat and has always been, so no fleas. Could this be a skin irritation on her ear? It's almost impossible to take Frida to the vet because of her temper. They usually have to put her to sleep just to check her out, which I try to avoid because it is so stressful for her, so I don't plan on taking her to the vet unless it is imperative. So any comments and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

xoxo

Re: Itchy ear?

Could possibly be an ear infection. Have you considered a vet that makes house calls? Many areas have them because there are so many pets that don't do well going to the office.

Re: Itchy ear?

Ear infection, chronic inflamation or ear mites? I think you can treat ear mites (and fleas, ticks, too) with Revolution or a similar 'spot on' product. For either of the other two possibilities, you'll need a vet visit for diagnosis confirmation and correct medication.
Best of luck,
Heidi
