mixing with wet

I know it's not supposed t be safe to mix wet and dry food because bacteria start to grow pretty quickly and all that but...mine really won't eat the wet food. they don't seem to hate it I mean they will eat a small portion out of hunger and don't seem repulsed while doing so (although with some they are repulsed) but they leave the rest. So what if I mix the wet and the dry food and they eat it in one sitting? Would that still be dangerous? I'd slowly increase wet and decrease dry. Is it really all that dangerous if it's eaten quickly?

Re: mixing with wet

I think if they eat it in one sitting, there's nothing wrong with it. I've done this before with my girls.

Re: mixing with wet

I'm kinda going through this right now too, because I've just made the switch very recently to feeding at specific times during the day. I also have just recently, successfully, gotten Patches to eat wet, after months of struggle trying to get her to eat it. They get dry in the a.m., and then wet at night. I'm finding out that they do have specific tastes they really like, and that flavor in our house is turkey. They will clean their dish when I feed them turkey, otherwise they will eat a small amount, and then walk away, or not eat any at all. For Patches, the one that wouldn't ever eat wet before, what REALLY helped with getting her to eat canned, was adding parmasan sprinkle cheese to her feed. It really worked for her!
