cat treats?

hi there,

i have a pug puppy whom i give various treats to (bananas, carrots, pumpkin, sweet potato, apple).

what are some healthy cat treats? my kitties love lettuce (they're weird) and egg, but i'm not sure what else. i don't like giving them all the fatty processed treats and dont' want them to feel left out!

Re: cat treats?

If you have deep pockets... my cat loves sashimi.

There is also a Japanese product called katsuo, which is dried shaved bonito flakes (fish, which is very light and thin) which is worth checking out if you have an asian market near you. Basically any dried fish with no added flavors/salt should be very appetizing to your cat. I feed my cat the aforementioned product and small dried sardines, another Japanese product, called niboshi.

Katsuo usually comes in a large plastic bag. it also comes grated into smaller pieces for use as a topping.

Both of these items are used for making soup stock in Japanese cuisine.

A lot of people say their cats love katsuo (bonito flakes). I have seen small cans of katsuo being sold at pet stores for the same price as a 100g bag at the Japanese market (about $5).
