Ronidazle

Mystik has unfortunately tested positive for TF and I am sure my poor kittens are going to be prescribed Ronidazle. The write ups sound horrible for this drug but it seems like it is the only thing that works. Ronidazole | VCA Animal Hospitals

Has anyone used this with their cats? How bad is it really?

We've had a few people here giving this to their cat over the years, but I'm not sure that any of them are still around. I don't remember any specific issues being brought up by any of them though. Since it's an antibacterial, it will kill good bacteria in the gut as well as bad...so I'd supplement with probiotics during treatment and for several weeks afterward.

Thanks Doodlebug! All three are on Flortiflora now. I will definitely ask the vet if this is good enough or if we need more probiotics.

Well, I have long spoken out against Fortiflora because of the animal digest in it. So I'd recommend something else. Animal Essentials Probiotics and Digestive Enzymes or any of the Wholistic Pet line of digestive products are my favorites.
