What should I do for an cat outside?

I recently took in a kitten I found in hopes of finding a foster but ended up keeping her. Now I have an adult cat outside who is very affectionate and of course I couldn't let the cat go hungry so I gave her some food.
The fact is that there is no way that I can afford to care for two cats. I ran out of the last of the dry cat food and since I was getting more canned kitten food I bought a small bag of the dry cat food, but I can't afford more than food.
I know once you start feeding animals outside they'll keep coming, but when I gave her the first food she was ravenous. I know I'm really soft when it comes to animals but I don't know what else to do except keep feeding her.

How about taking her to a rescue or shelter that can help her find a proper home of her own?
