Fish oil for dandruff? Dose?

Our 15 yr old male (black) short hair always had on / off problem with dandruff along his back. He's always eaten "all meat" canned food, supplemented w/ fresh cuts of beef, pork, poultry.

When he was younger, it was mainly in cold, dry weather.
Now it's more often. Flax seed oil helps some, but plant based omega acids & oils aren't the best for cats.

Those feeding fish oil for dandruff / dry skin, how much do you feed per day? It may depend on how "concentrated" the fish oil is and the quality. Don't want to overdo it.

He's ~ 14 lbs - in good shape for his age.
Some vets / people say black cats are prone to dandruff, but maybe it's just more visible.
