Dave's - change in formula?

I reaaaalllly hope this isn't the case. Celia and Mr. Casper both love the tuna & chicken pate; it's what finally got them off the Fancy Feast all seafood flavor. However, the last 2 cases that I bought have elicited no enthusiasm. They sniff, lick a little, and then look at me, like where's the real stuff?

What I've noticed is that there is much more bone, and bigger, harder pieces of bone in the food. And the texture is different - not as smushy soft. In July/Aug, the cans must have had an expiration date of 1/2016. I never looked, until the cats got fussy, and I saw the exp. date was 2/2016 on one can. The close exp. dates don't really bother me - I'd love to see them way beyond that, but they've always seemed fresh. In the newer cases, the exp. was 3/2016. I tried cans from 3 different cases, with exp. dates of either 2/2016 or 3/2016, and the cats are very lukewarm towards all of them.

Today, I saw some cans with a 1/2016 exp. date in my local store. I bought some to test my hypothesis. Celia chowed right down on this can.

So...I can buy all the remaining 1/2016 cans, but at some point, there won't be any more. If Dave's has changed its formula, I'll need to start another hunt for a food that she'll eat. Argh.
