Cat staying at Vet. Don't know what to expect.

Sat. I noticed Onyx spending an exceedingly long time in the litter box with no visible production. Happen many times Sun evening. I timed one. 20 minutes after I started timing. She was in it a long time before i started timing.
This morning, she was in the bedroom box when I got up. I did my bathroom stuff, dressed for work and she was still in the box. I figured we are dealing with a urine or bowel problem.
My wife took her to the vet today. The vet said her bladder felt fine and is keeping her overnight.
What could I be looking at if it is a bowel problem? Cat is probably 4 years old.

My cats aren't spoilt, Just well loved.
