Omega 3 and soft stools?

I started giving my cats Nordic Naturals Omega-Pet oil supplement and after a few days I found some soft poop on the floor. It was fully formed but when I picked it up, it was soft. I think I know which cat it was because he's always had trouble with his bowels until I started feeding raw. He's been fine until this incident.

I'm assuming it's because of the oil supplement I'm giving him and I am wondering if anyone else has had this problem? I'm giving him the recommended dosage. If I cut down the dosage, am I wasting my money on the benefits of the full dosage or is a little better than none?

He's been eating raw ground chicken with bones and organs, some ground quail with bones, organs and feathers, and a small dab of duck or pheasant, all with Alnutrin added (trying to wean him into eating this), all purchased from Hare Today.

Did you start off with a small dosage? Whenever I gave my pets fish oils or coconut oil I always started off with about 1/4 of a dose and then gradually worked my way up to the full amount over the course of about a week or so.

Giving them a large amount all at once basically guarantees soft stools, but even smaller amounts can cause it too at first.

Stupid me! No I didn't do that. I gave them a few drops the first day to see if they would take it and then gave the full dose. I think I'll take them off of it for about a week then start all over again. Thank you. I never thought about it giving them soft stools. Ugh!!!

I am NO expert but, I need to share my thoughts

In giving your pet or even human an oil for easier bowel movements.
Would it be sufficient to say that - it (being the bowel movement) would be a slippery sucker?

Just sayin'

Lol, yes that makes sense! Come to think of it, my cats don't get much fatty foods in the first place, adding fish oil to the diet would surely grease up the inner workings.
