Covered in fleas!!

Hi all, I've just discovered that my cat is covered in fleas in the underbelly and interior part of the hind legs. I only applied drops 2 weeks ago, and I'm unsure if I can apply them again, or if I can apply spray against fleas, or what else to do. It's a holiday in my country, and this is not considered an emergency here, so I can't contact a vet for the next two days! Any advice will be welcome!

Drops should have worked and the locations aren't the most obvious.. If your cat is very docile try an alcohol spray. If there were already fleas present you will need to treat bedding, upholstery, etc..

I haven't had fleas for a long long time. They don't overwinter in Canada that well, but can be bothersome in hot and humid weather. Years ago I had indoor/outdoor cats and did get fleas, but I got rid of a lot of them by just bathing the cats with a flea shampoo and using a flea comb. Also a lot of vacuuming around the baseboards particularly helped. Since my cats have been strictly indoor cats for many years now, I haven't had any fleas---more than 14 yrs. ago as I recall now.

You can bathe her in dishwashing liquid then retreat her with the flea meds when her coat is dry. The dishwashing liquid will kill many of them.

Try using flea shampoo, it works. Also make sure your house is treated.
