Are cat treats okay to give to kittens as well?

I wanted to give Belle some treats and she's six months now but the treats don't seem to specify ages. There's just the different treats and they all say for cats so I want to be sure.

Hi SnowyOwl!
Treats would be ok....I would suggest getting some 'freeze dried' meat treats tho'....much healthier!
Some of our 'foodies', can hopefully suggest varieties/brands, for you!

My lil guy loves these. They are healthy. The dog and cat are the same formula, but you get more for your money with the dog one.

My Pudds go absolutely crazy begging for PureBites freeze dried chicken (or turkey or duck). Dog and cat is exactly the same....100% chicken (or whatever meat it is)...so buy in the dog section of the stores as it seems cheaper there and you can get bigger bags.

My kitties love stuff like Temptations but sadly, they are very, very unhealthy so I've recently started switching them onto the better stuff. Freeze-dried treats are great, but my senior hates plain meat, so I've started using brands like these instead -

- Blue Buffalo: Wilderness
- Canidae
- Cloud Star
- Delightibles
- Grizzly
- Wellness: Pure Delights
- ZiwiPeak
- Halo: Healthsome
- Nature's Variety

Well, I'm a nitpicker about what my cats eat. They get very minimal carbs in their diet, so their main food is raw meat. The treats they do get (which is very seldom) are freeze dried meats that usually contain a single protein.

I think I recall treats should be no more than 10% of their diet (in calories), so as long as you're not over-indulging them, I think you're fine. Kittens need more food than adults, but in general you don't want to give too much "junk food" if your treats are not healthy ones.

I find that Salt & Vinegar potato chips and Trader Joe's White Cheddar Puffs go over REALLY well. Of course leftover mashed potatoes, green beans, and frozen pizza were met with equal excitement in the past few days.

Treats are fine for kittens! Kittens actually need a lot of calories/food while they are growing, so occasional treats are just fine. Just don't overdo it so the kitten gets used to eating lots of treats and prefers them over their regular food! ;}

My cat's favorites are:

-Blue Buffalo: Wilderness
-ANY freeze-dried protein (chicken, turkey, etc.)
-Orijen Wild Boar

Well they are treats after all.
Kiki and Lulu go crazy for Kiri cheese spread that comes in the wrapped squares.
We also buy freeze dried chicken from a local business who specialise in pet treats and toys. The girls love them
